Michelle Slarke is a visual artist and writer based in Lake Grace, WA. Michelle’s work is research-based and often informed by the social and historic content of place so as to create layered meaning and perspectives. She uses materials intrinsic to a site or concept and diverse, nontraditional methods.
Her practice is interdisciplinary, including installation, mixed media, environmental works and permanent public artworks. Text is an important component, including a cross-over to writing works of non-fiction and fiction. Michelle has exhibited nationally and internationally and created collaborative works through cultural exchange.
