Objectifying book art

BookArtObject is a great ongoing project by an informal collective of artists working with book arts. Administered from Australia, it includes artists spanning the world, using the blog as a hub for their activities. Artists work in the medium of artists’ books and come together occasionally to make small editions of work in response to text.

Their latest edition, #4, was formed in response to British Artist Sarah Bodman’s project An Exercise for Kurt Johannessen, with an intriguing interplay between artists and writers on a number of levels… you can read further about it on the BAO blog.

If you are in Canberra (we unfortunately aren’t!) then BAO are currently exhibiting their latest project, Book Art Object: An exhibition of Australian and international artists’ books. The exhibition is showing at the UNSW Canberra (ADFA) Library between the 17th October and the 28th November 2013 (details below).
